I wrote about this about a decade ago.
Zone defense isn’t the problem. Zone offense is. Teach your players how to pass, attack gaps, & move away from the ball.
cc: @JHillsman
Spurs just ran zone on the Thunder in OT and won the game but AAU coaches are ruining kids by playing zone? HS basketball just desperately needs new evaluators. They don’t want to do the work of scouting through a zone. That’s an evaluator problem not a defense problem
Nehemiah Michael
Nehemiah is a crafty guard with the ball on a string. Consistently created space for easy buckets or scoring opportunities for his team. Michael scored in the paint at the rim and with a good floater. Used his size and length on defense to disrupt the opposing offense.

Quavion Mobley
Quavion is a long, lanky, and versatile big man who showed a well-rounded game. He used length and athleticism to guard multiple spots and controlled the glass. Mobley handled the ball on the open floor and made the right passes for easy buckets. Scored well at the rim with both hands and a soft touch.

Fernando George iii
Fernando is a lead guard on both ends. He defended with purpose and caused multiple turnovers, leading to run-outs. He scored across all 3 levels and created easy buckets for his team.
