Made another mistake with @Ubiquiti. Bought an EV-Lite charger that apparently I can't use unless I buy a controller to register it with. I have no interest in cloud connectivity for this device. I just want to configure it. Dumb. Between this and mandating cloud accounts on my privately hosted AP setup. Time to migrate.

Today's talking points apparently include the republican congressional excuse tour where they claim they voted for a bill but it wasn't really their fault. It appears they might have noticed a bit of heat coming from the masses. Perhaps the senate should also pay attention.

Common sense vs bureaucracy. Easy to get it wrong. Do you want things spelled out, or do you trust the officials to use their concept of common sense?

Student Loan problem.... It's becoming clear that one of the issues to be addressed is the minimum payments are too low. Arbitrarily changing terms of existing loans stinks, so leave those alone, but for future loans the lender should mandate no less than interest 50% each month? Perhaps some "truth in lending" where the borrower gets a statement saying that if they continue to pay the amount they paid last month they will have loans for the next X years? And certainly they should get statements every month while they're deferring showing what the minimum payment will be and how long they're looking at paying it.

Hate on @elonmusk all you want, he gets a lot of respect from me. He's throwing his money at things he believes will improve the world, apparently without regard for trying to grow his fortune. And he's got a pretty good track record resulting in bigger opportunities to give.

If you think putting kids to bed is hard when the sun is up at 9pm. Just imagine how much fun it will be when they are getting up with the sun before 5am. Leave the system alone. It sucks for 4 days but works well the rest of the year.
