"Where are We in History - Attentionalism, Capitalism, Violence" Alexander Bard sat down with Tim Adalin from Altered States of Conversation, in a new philosophical series on Paradigms, Membranics and Archetypology, to answer that very question. Enjoy! youtube.com/watch?v=2V58TpMO…

I'm going to write pretty soon, a review of my decades long involvement with integral approaches:
I finished reading what is for me a landmark essay in my own intellectual development, because it brings me back to rethinking the founding moment of the P2P Foundation in 2005 as a 'left integralist' movement. We attempted to be a collective organic intellectual for a self-reflexive and class conscious commons movement. But the integral movement itself went into a a-political, largely soft-spiritual orientation, while the commons movement significantly fell prey to the post-Floyd moral panic. As the P2P Foundation network 'froze' and enough commoners followed the left in a path of identitarian suicide, I hung on to what I considered a healthy, pragmatic, egalitarian and regenerative pocket that combined hands on work with 'productive communities' and web3 coordination tools. In the meantime, I continued my research, intensely looking at the body of work of macrohistorians. My own cancellation in 2018 also led to the realization that far from being as integrative as I would like to be, I had ignored and rejected even paying attention to the other side of the political spectrum. Given the nastyness of the identitarian left, even merely thinking forces on the center and right of the spectrum had a certain attractivitey, and at least my curiousity was aroused. But as time went on, it was clear that for most of them, their committment to free speech and pluralism was not genuine, and that there are many on that other side of the spectrum that are as eager to support various forms of domination and suppression as their identitarian enemies. And as for the integral movement, what Erik Haines calls the Romantic-Industrial Complex (Rebel Wisdom, Perpspectiva, the little corner of the Internet, etc ..). I continued following them with great interest. I have a genuine interest in spiritual reflexion and practice, BUT, I also keenly felt that none of these forces were tackling even remotely the political-economy sides of things. These are means of coping with disaster, not actively engaging with it. And so this is where Erik Haines comes in. With a similar genealogical background in integral theory, he seems to have pursued their emancipatory lineage, rather than their coping lineage. It's a portal for me to re-engage with this important part of my own intellectual and activist history. He also forces me to confront the demands of the post-metaphysical turn more 'head-on': * On Enchanted Flatland: Iain McGilchrist & the Problem of Romantic Liberalism erikhaines.org/p/on-enchante…

A man who deserves support.
Please share in your networks if you can: * A fundraising to maintain the existence of the P2P Foundation wiki WE NEED YOUR HELP: DO NOT LET THE P2P FOUNDATION WIKI (wiki.p2pfoundation.net) DISAPPEAR AGAIN. !!!! Dear friends, Some of you may have noticed our wiki was not available for three weeks. I believe this wiki is an extremely important public resource, a unique record of the present transition towards a new form of human civilization.  * We have collated, organized and synthesized more than 40,000 projects and concepts that are using decentralized, peer to peer, and commons-centric forms of social life. A lot of this material is not easily available on the open internet. * We reached one billion views a decade ago and the wiki is not just widely used ‘directly’ anymore, but two million chatbots visit us every week:  the p2p/commons perspective is now integrated in the responses of the major AI research chatbots such as ChatGPT and Deepseek (just ask to add the ‘p2p wiki’ perspective to any of your searches). * We bring a vital new perspective on social change, based on the real experiences of millions of people who are effectively changing their ways of life. If you want to know how to organize productive communities, how to relate to non-human life and resources , and how to create a resilient and thriving life in harmony with the planet’s long term existence, this wiki could be of vital assistance. We have been able to maintain this wiki since 2005, spending several hours a day of unpaid work. Since 2018, we have not received any support from NGO’s and philanthropic sources. So now, we need direct support from our users and the public. Last month, we disappeared from the intern et for three full weeks. We are back with the help of Jeff Emmett of the Crypto Commons Alliance. With your financial help, I want to generate a basic income to protect my capacity to continue updating and maintaining the wiki in terms of content; and to compensate Jeff for his hosting and maintenance work. In the immediate future, we aim for $6k to bridge a difficult period. Please assist us with this fundraising. This is an urgent request for assistance.
