We live in a world of self inflicted inefficiency. This is the kind of bs that keeps us from extreme productivity and progress at a time in history when we're most capable of building etc. washingtonpost.com/business/…

It is wild that we live in a time where we have the capability to build things larger and faster than at any other point in history, and yet we do so slower than before, for no other reason than self inflicted beurocratic bs.

I can't stand journalists. Maybe this is some retarded ai thing, but I see articles like this all the time! It literally has nothing to do with the 3d printer! The kid burnt himself by trying to melt the printed pieces together outside of the printer functionality! So absurd! Local boy survives 3D printer accident, faces long recovery after severe burns :: WRAL.com share.google/j3F9XiIIOrFB1aO…

Moving to the US should be way more difficult than it is. Visiting the US should be way easier than it is.

The only thing that makes sense to me about Americas relationship with Israel is that as part of their "survival" tactic, they have convinced enough American Christians to believe the way Ted does. Nothing else makes sense. The whole "Never Again" thing is absurd in context. Why are the Jewish warranted some never again special treatment? Russians/slavs suffered 26m casualties vs 6m Jews...what makes the first a hate obligation and the second a fealty obligation? The religion thing is the only thing that makes sense. And it has no basis in Christian doctrine
Ted Cruz will never be able to recover from this.

BREAKING: Apple just proved AI "reasoning" models like Claude, DeepSeek-R1, and o3-mini don't actually reason at all. They just memorize patterns really well. Here's what Apple discovered: (hint: we're not as close to AGI as the hype suggests)

I thought republicans were seriously gonna let Elon Musk cut government and it sounds really dumb now that I’m saying it out loud.

Removing it would be like setting your house on fire. For now we're *just* letting the kids play with matches and gasoline on the porch

It’s a borrowing limit. It’s not a function / it’s a rule violated by a weak Congress regularly…

I realize we all probably don't need more reasons to be sad, but I'm pretty sure you're going to be sad if you listen to what might have been at NASA. arstechnica.com/space/2025/0…

The “great stagnation” is mostly attributable to the Byzantine system of federal regulations that we subjected ourselves to in the 1970s. This was unnecessary and has been fatal to entire industries. But there’s time to undo it! I’m excited about the next four years.
"Airplanes today fly no faster than they did in the 1970s. In many countries, road speeds have decreased. Flying cars never showed up. In developed countries, the tallest buildings have only inched higher. Most rich countries produce less energy per capita than they did 20 years ago, and the cost of building new physical infrastructure like railways seems to rise inexorably. Yet cruise ships continue to grow: a natural experiment in what can be achieved outside the constraints that have stifled progress on dry land."

If you've been betting the house on a future where you are a primarily "intellectual exporter", you are now in some seriously deep shit! That is the first and easiest thing for AI to replace, and it's already happening.
