You don't have to love RTD2 to recognise how many factors were outside RTD's control. RTD had an original plan. But a series of circumstances outside his control forced him to pivot repeatedly. Looking at RTD2 without that context misses a huge part of the story. A thread....🧡

A few things to clarify - we'd never need to see DT again to follow 14's timeline - it wouldn't retcon Ncuti because 15 and his timeline still exists and is completely equal - bigeneration is ambiguous, with various contradictions, and we don't know that 14 will become 15
Wait……… I think I have just realised a way that they could maintain the show’s continuity if they wanted to, whilst never needing to revisit what happens with Billie’s character…..πŸ‘€ Why don’t we follow the timeline from the 14th Doctor?

Through all of it, RTD kept adapting. He made difficult decisions with incomplete information and changing realities. You can dislike the outcomes, but it's unfair to pretend he was operating under ideal conditions.

Right to the very end, RTD was fighting to keep Doctor Who on our screens. He shouldn't look back on the era with regret. Whatever people think of the results, the effort to keep the show alive never stopped. πŸ’™πŸ’™

We are due to start #TogetherInTheTARDIS tomorrow, celebrating an episode each day until Christmas, but that feels strange. My suggestion is that, starting next week, we celebrate an episode each WEEK, taking us right through to…..early 2030! πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯Ή See next post….

Having a week for each episode, it’d give us all a chance to rewatch it, and spread the love over the coming years. We can always move things around as we learn more about the future of the show if we need to. So…what do people think? Fancy a 4-year trip in the TARDIS? πŸ’™πŸ’™

Come to think of it, there is something slightly poetic about RTD's first and final moments of Doctor Who. πŸŒΉπŸ’™πŸ’™
