A market research study conducted by Savanta in October 2025 advised central bank officials that such portraits presented "a backward-looking vision of the UK that carries too great a risk of division and controversy".

I just spoke to the young Israeli man attacked in Golders Green. After he was heard speaking Hebrew on the phone, a group of young men in hoodies asked if he was Jewish. Then, they beat him for over five minutes.
Throughout the attack, they repeatedly called him “Yehudi” - Jew.
He told me he feared for his life. “It’s a miracle I’m not badly injured,” he said. “The state of London is sad and scary, but it’ll get even worse.”

Dear @owenjonesjourno. As editor of Jewish News, I was appalled by the language my deputy used towards you. There is no excuse for the unnecessary use of a full stop before a coordinating conjunction. The sentence should, of course, have read:

Two blokes in balaclavas tried to firebomb Finchley Refrom Synagouge last night. The bombs did not ignite against the walls. I’ve been there a bunch of times, it’s lovely. The community is about as welcoming as can be. I’m about to do the family shopping about two minutes away. This is happening. This is real. WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!
