If you struggle with depression, anxiety, or other mood issues you should take a probiotic supplement. The scientific evidence for their impact on our mental health is very strong. And yoghurt, kimchi and kombucha aren't the right kinds of probiotics for mood, you need a supplement.
I recommend "Garden of Life Mood " it's got nearly every clinically studied probiotic for mental health I could find.
Here's some research backing this up,
Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium longum when taken together decrease self reported anxiety and depression

a triple-blind placebo-controlled randomized study of 20 people without mood disorders showed 7 probiotics when taken together reduced negative thoughts, sad moods, and negative rumination

Lactobacillus Plantarum ... improves cognitive functions in patients with major depression: A double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled study (when taken with an SSRI)

Dietary supplementation with Lactobacillus rhamnosus JB-1 restores brain neurochemical balance and mitigates the progression of mood disorder in a rat model of chronic unpredictable mild stress

There's a ton more out there, and people with chronic depression and mood disorders have also been shown to be deficient in some strains. So supplements are needed just to get a lot of depressed people back up to a baseline in these strains that have an impact on mental health
I'm just sharing this because when I came across this info years ago it kind of blew my mind and taking these for years has had a noticeable impact on my quality of life.
If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or stress, or having any other kind of mood issue I highly recommend a probiotic supplement. This is the best I've found, I made a big list of clinically researched probiotics some years ago and this has nearly all of them.
