GP in Aboriginal health, policy & education. Find stuff interesting, like complex medicine, environments that keep us well and violas. He/Him. Opinions, eh?
OK, dear friends. I have some exciting news.
I've been awarded a Churchill Fellowship to look at providing general practice/primary care to communities that can't afford to pay.

I've worked in the same clinic for 20 years now. I never thought I'd be in one place for so long. I had a few thoughts on being a GP for a long time in the @BJGPjournalbjgplife.com/how-long-does-g…
I feel really lucky to be in a country with compulsory voting and an independent electoral commission.
Get on the website and make sure you are enrolled right now!
Today is National Viola Day (I don't know which country - it should be wherever you are right now!)
This gives me a great excuse to remember the beautiful piece I commissioned during the COVID lockdowns, played amazingly by Katie Yap.

Please feel free to share all the

articles and my final report (churchilltrust.com.au/fellow…) very widely. The more people know about it, the better our health system could be. Especially with an election coming...
I summarised my Churchill Fellowship findings and recommendations for

It's here! My Churchill Fellowship report on my visit to Deep End GPs is published!
You can download it from here churchilltrust.com.au/fellow…
Of course you should read it - it's not dull - but if you want a quick spoiler, here are my recommendations - a brief thread...
You'll notice that what I'm arguing for - because *all* evidence points this way - is properly funded primary health care - relationship-based, continuity over time, comprehensive.
ACCHOs do this well, though all of primary care could do so much more with proper funding.
