This is apparently something a lot of folx (esp. BIPOC) needed to hear, so I'm posting it again & will keep on RTing it cuz I never want any marginalized writer to feel like if they can't do it like Stephen King or Thoreau, they're not a real writer. NOPE

The idea that writers must have uninterrupted hours to write is the product of, among other things, white, male, able-bodied privilege. The reason why most WMAB authors have been able to write this was is due to the labor of those society expects to care for them.
