progress on battle mechanics. someone said "why is it always a deck builder". i removed the cards UI so i hope it's more clear now that it's in fact not a deck builder
Love the new #Hearthstone Battlegrounds season, but damn, am I a noob at 6k and is this different higher up, but when Quillboars are in you either play Quillboar or lose? Seems still horribly unballanced.

All these hot takes on why or why games don’t get played / sold… If you ask me, 10 years into living off my game sales:
There is a huge luck part involved when selling games (anything), which is the “randomness” of what the consumer wants at any given moment.
Sometimes they want new and novel stuff, sometimes they want the old samey stuff, sometimes they want anything inbetween and sometimes they just want to watch TikTok all day. It’s completely out of your reach what consumers want any given moment.
Sure you can increase your exposure to consumers and optimize your chances to reach the right targetgroup, but in the end it’s random if you happen to have a game that fits consumer needs in the right moment.

I'm convinced that indies sell these days is by being so different and exciting that ppl recommend the game to their friends\content creators on their own.
Spending effort on emails is a waste of time, you have to convince a few freaks that ur game is made exactly for them.
Indie Developers that complain no one plays their game, but they never sent any emails to content creators or did any marketing…
We’re begging you, we’re here to help you and we want to help you.
As someone with some experience making “new” indie games, it’s absolutely essential that, if you want to take that challenge on, you expand your idea of an audience beyond genre. There’s more to people than “plays metroidvanias” (1/9)

Nothing beats Nintendo World Cup for NES where you can straight up tackle your opponent until he lies dead on the ground for the rest of the match 😂 (including unstoppable bicycle kicks)
