This is counter-productive, authoritarian and chilling. The British state should not be in the business of banning commentators and journalists from entering the country, without compelling reason. Finding their views objectionable is nowhere near enough. theguardian.com/media/2026/j…

I love these goofy anti-education losers because they think you just rocked up with a chisel at 18 and someone said 'ok so do what you want, enjoy, cathedral there please'. The guilds and apprenticeships were hardcore. It was a degree, as we'd understand it, and highly specialised
"you need a degree to build a house" Men without degrees 500 years ago:
Community note
The construction of the Cologne Cathedral was done by heavily trained apprentices and master masons. It took multiple generations of highly skilled men, who dedicated their lives to the craft, to build Gothic cathedrals like this one. sah.org/2017/07/18/med…. cologne-tourism.com/arts-culture/s… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne_C… tota.world/article/1658/

Fox host: I think it is alarming that we have not been able to see or hear from any of the Iranian people. Do they have drinking water, food? Trump: Do you remember when we had lunch years ago at Trump Tower? You have not changed. You may be even better looking.

I have huge admiration for Verstappen as a driver. But this is a bad look for him and his team. Also - a pity that other journalists didn’t leave, or at least question him - or Red Bull - harder on that level of entitlement. It’s not like it was even a particularly nasty question

Max Verstappen made the start of his press conference here in Suzuka today conditional on the absence of The Guardian journalist, Giles Richards. “I’ll only start when he leaves.” When questioned by the journalist about the reason, Max said it was because of the question he asked in Abu Dhabi last year It was Giles who asked Max whether he regretted what happened at the Spanish Grand Prix and if he thought he had lost the championship because of that race. via: @jucerasoli

Mike Johnson: Tonight we have created a new award. We are going to do something we've never done before. We will honor him with a new award. He is the first ever recipient of the America first award. That is this beautiful golden statue here, appropriate for the golden era.

Hate to think of how many students have suffered and job applications have been ignored because the software that does stuff like this basically doesn’t work.

NEW: Each day since the start of the war in Iran, U.S. military officials compile a video for President Trump that shows the biggest, most successful strikes on Iranian targets over the previous 48 hours, U.S. officials say. One described each daily video as a series of clips of “stuff blowing up.” nbcnews.com/politics/white-h…

Extraordinary. An entire thread of people debating whether a regular, generic, quite obvious bait-and-switch joke in a newspaper column was written accidentally.
Think the writer swerved into something here, or did he do that on purpose?

One of those articles that stays with you for years after reading it. Easily some of the best journalism you’ll ever read
In light of the most recent episode of The Pitt, I recommend everyone read Gene Weingarten’s Pulitzer winning 2009 article on parents who lost a child because they accidentally left their baby in the back seat. It makes me cry just thinking about it. washingtonpost.com/lifestyle…
