USEPA RESEARCH at the BIOSTATION: Today, the @thomasmoreky invertebrate zoology class conducted a research project with the EPA to refine aquatic biology sampling protocols by sorting macroinvertebrates from a variety of artificial-substrate samplers in the River.

Today, the Sisters of Notre Dame (@SistersNDUSA) visited for a tour and tree planting in honor of their member, and the @ThomasMoreKY Field Stationās founding director, the late Sr. Mary Laurence Budde.
ST Eās at the BIOSTATION: This week, the @StElizabethNKY resident physicians held their annual overnight retreat at the Lodgeāand even took their Christmas card photo! On the river, some Cincy State students joined us for a tour and electrofishing.
SAVE THE DATE: For the Blue and Green Clubās annual student Fall Fest at the Field Station Lodge on Oct. 25 from 6-8:30 PM. The event will include crafts, music, games, and a bonfire. See you there!

ECO STEM CAMP! Yesterday, campers electrofished and kayaked on the Ohio River. Today, they explored the floodplain nature trail, learned about animal husbandry, and presented their findings on the health of the River to their peers, Station staff, and the interns. Come back soon!

LAB CREW feeds and maintains life support systems daily at the Station and the @NewportAquarium, and monitors the river for HABs and VOCs. Lab-based independent studies include mussel fish-host ID, and fathead minnow breeding experiments and invert toxicity tests with the @EPA.
