Add in the fact that this was a brand-new IP, navigating a pandemic-era release, and it makes sense why it landed on Netflix instead of taking the traditional theatrical path. But now? I believe this is just the beginning.
The potential for Kpop Demon Hunters as a franchise is massive, and if they lean into it, this could become not just a hit film, but a lasting cultural franchise.

Having a theatrical release where I spent nearly $75 after my kids had already seen it for free on Netflix (multiple times)... this feels like a LTV hack on my family.
Let's not even talk about all the Halloween discussions that have been popping up in our household as well.

Parents just don’t understand!
The Minecraft movie trailers were met with skeptical reviews back in late 2024. Keep in mind that many of the skeptical reviewers and critics were not Gen Z, and they could not understand how this would be a quality movie worth watching.
