Storm Floris will bring unseasonably strong winds across Scotland.
‼️A number of routes will be withdrawn from 12:00 with speed restrictions on all other routes. Check our app/website/JourneyCheck page tomorrow for service info prior to travel.
ALT Storm Floris will bring unseasonably strong winds to all of Scotland on Monday, 4 August. A yellow weather warning is in place across the country from 06:00 to 00:00. An amber weather warning will be active for Glasgow, Edinburgh, and areas north of the Central Belt from 10:00 to 22:00. All rail routes will have a 50mph speed restriction. Services on several routes (Edinburgh-Fife/Perth/Dundee, Perth-Dundee/Aberdeen/Inverness, Dunblane-Perth, Inverness-Aberdeen/Wick/Thurso/Kyle of Lochalsh, West Highland Line) will be withdrawn from 12:00 on Monday. Tickets for Monday can be used today, Monday morning, or Tuesday. Do not underestimate Storm Floris. It’s expected to set new August wind speed records. Take extra care when out and about. For service updates, check the ScotRail app, website, or visit www.journeycheck.com/scotrail
