The trades can build anything... except the software they run on. That changes today. We've raised $9.2M to build Dalton Mills. Software has spent its whole history getting closer to the people who do the work. First, the system of record. Software you stored your business in. Then, the agentic era. Software that did the work for you. Now, the bespoke era. Agentic software you build yourself, without code. Each era closed the gap and this one closes it for good. Software can finally work around your business, instead of you bending your business to make it fit. You ran on software made for everyone… never for you. That's over. Welcome to @DaltonMillsAI. Let the builders build!

Increasingly, I believe companies may need to be rebuilt from the ground up, where you have a single timeline of all observability product metrics file changes laid out in a retrievable system, like Datadog Posthog Google Drive Slack (really unified filesystem of Claude Code chats Codex chats). This might be the new data foundation for any and all companies to maximize AI. Needs to be rebuilt because keeping track of diffs on existing system basically impossible to produce longitudinal information on decisions and rollbacks, something coding agent storage companies are actively trying to figure out, but this should extend to businesses as a whole. Highly skeptical existing businesses will adopt this though because it means overhauling everything about their instrumentation and business data, but I think businesses built on this foundation probably can execute 100x better and faster

I know it’s not… BUT Anthropic is really good with this type of marketing… and they have an IPO coming up. Just saying! 👑 if true
As a result of a US government directive, we are suspending access to Claude Fable 5 for all users. You can continue to use all other Claude models. Here’s what this means for you: Across Claude products, new sessions will run on your selected default model or Opus 4.8, and existing Fable 5 sessions will end with an error. On the Claude Platform, requests to Fable 5 will also return an error. Please update your integrations to other Claude models. We know this is a disruption to your workflows; we appreciate your patience and support.

For those following. We were delayed 4 hours because @united had rodents running around the plane. As an "im sorry" for all the folks on the plane having their day ruined, they gave us salami snack packs free of charge. Oh also.. the fire alarm is going off on the plane for the last hour but there is "no fire".
We had to deplane our @united flight to LAX due to "pests" on the flight "worse than snakes". Any guesses on what's worse than snakes on a plane? Reason number a million to never take United.

Imagine a world where you could copy/paste websites into editable Figma layers (jk you don’t have to imagine you can do this now with our Chrome extension)

Everyone's focused on AI writing code faster. The bigger unlock is WHERE the code gets written. What happened on this call is a preview: the sales conversation itself becomes the spec, and the build happens inside the deal cycle instead of after it. The economics here are wild if you think it through. Traditional SaaS: prospect asks for a feature, it goes on a roadmap, maybe built in 2 quarters, deal stalls or dies waiting. Customization is a cost center, so vendors say no by default. AI-native platform: the feature gets built during the call. Customization becomes a sales leverage point with near-zero marginal cost. The vendor says yes by default. Closed monoliths win by being 80% right for everyone. Open, AI-native platforms win by being 100% right for each customer and proving it before the contract is signed. "Time to value" used to be measured from onboarding. Now it starts in the middle of the pitch.
Mythos / Fable is unbelievable. Was on a customer call today and had Claude transcribing in the background. As they were telling me about the features they wish their current software had, Claude was building the features in real time. By the end of the call I was able to show a fully working product, with the exact workflow they mentioned 15 minutes earlier. Autonomous looped building triggered from a customer call. 🤯

We are so excited to have Connor Kuehnle joining @DaltonMillsAI as Head of Product this week. I want to explain why this matters, because it says something about the kind of company we’re building, and who we’re building it with. Connor spent 9 years at Housecall Pro, then led Product for Construction & Field Service at Intuit. Over a decade inside trades software, at two of the companies that defined the category. He knows what the trades love, what they tolerate, and what they stopped asking for out of frustration. But what we’re most excited about is how Connor works, because it’s exactly how we work. Connor is an engineer who became a product leader, and on his first day he was on customer calls in the morning and building features on our platform in the afternoon. Most software companies don’t work that way. They still run the old model: product teams who write, engineers who build, customers who wait. That model is a relic. We believe the companies that win in this AI era will be the ones where the people closest to the customer can build, and the people who build are closest to the customer. The trades deserve a product leader who has lived their problems and can build the answers with his own hands. Now they have one. Welcome, Connor. It’s time to let the builders build!

I seriously cannot believe how turnkey and easy Claude connectors are. Embarrassed it's my first time actually using them, but wow.

I love that Anthropic does this for every model drop but id love tk see the math on it. For a 1x cost my guess is the NRR increase pretty dramatically for power users.
We've reset 5-hour and weekly rate limits for all users. Enjoy Fable 5!

A landscaper sent me this. He’s building his own software with Claude, because his current software isn’t built for him, it’s built for the masses. The trades are building!

Sad about the Knicks…. BUT. I’m with a friend who has early access to Mythos because he works at a major cyber company. Holy hell it’s a comptroller step function better than Opus and gives you that magical feeling again.

At what point is an announced IPO not confidential?
We recently submitted a confidential S-1. We expect it to leak so we’re just announcing it. We have not decided on timing yet; it may be a while because there are things we want to do that are likely easier as a private company. But it’s a complicated set of tradeoffs and this gives us the option to go public sooner if that ends up being best. This announcement is being made pursuant to Rule 135 under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and does not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy any securities. Any offers, solicitations of offers to buy, or any sales of securities will be made in accordance with the registration requirements of the Securities Act.

The team behind our design and video work at @DaltonMillsAI Have loved working with them!
It took 2 years from discovering Todd in 2024 to working with him, I couldn't have been happier to have had the chance to work him from from Day 0 as creative partner to raising an over subscribed round of $9.2m to build Dalton Mills & the future for blue collar builders.
