Hm, this confirms many people’s suspicions that Anthropic is pulling an “Apple” by degrading older models before releasing a new one, creating the appearance of a larger performance jump.

It’s incredible. They finally had the perfect opportunity to rebrand their products, to get away from the ugly, conceptually-limiting ChatGPT moniker to one that truly captures the boundless, multimodal possibilities of AI. And they went with “Codex”
