🚨 C20 is concerned to learn that planning permission has been granted to demolish 17 Whitney Drive in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
Designed in 1966 by Derrick Shorten as his own family home, Shorten was also project architect on Coventry Railway Station (1962), now Grade II listed.

I saw an idea recently that I thought was lovely…public libraries that are open late every night so ppl can socialize, as an alternative to bars or sitting alone at home. Would be especially perfect for introverts to socialize comfortably and for older people who are lonely.

Created by Ron Gittins between 1986-2019, it features creatures from Greek mythology and murals of Ancient Rome, and is the first example of Outsider Art to be nationally listed
