In this paper we look at gas bubbles and how they behave when travelling inside inclined conduits. We look at what effect small amounts of particles have on the behaviour of these bubbles. The goal to see what combining complexities could do for strombolian style eruptions.

New open access paper out on the @sheffieldgeog ultraviolet camera for measuring volcanic sulphur dioxide (SO2) emissions, led by @Thomas_Wilkes1, this is the next step in the development of our low-cost system but for permanent usage.

Super excited to see our paper out @NatureComms rdcu.be/b4Wx2. We combined a ground-based remote sensing approach with in-plume measurements using an aerial platform to calculate gas compositions and amounts from specific vents. Thanks to a great team!

Simultaneous aerial and ground-based measurements now allow us to determine vent-specific volatile fluxes at multi-vent systems. In this study led by @tompering we apply this strategy at Stromboli. Delighted to see our paper out in print in @NatureComms! nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
