25 from 25! Review of the year/advent calendar from a very busy year of travel. Starting with a journey on the most northerly line in the UK, the Far North Line. To get to Thurso, trains have to reverse here at Georgemas Junction from Inverness.

The Ffestiniog railway, what a stunner! First time on it, the scenery through Gogledd Cymru incredible 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Started high up in Blaenau Ffestiniog before ending by the Sea in Porthmadog, with lots of scenic views on the way🤩

More stations ticked✅ This time it's stations between Bristol and Taunton. Yatton was really grand, still retaining lots of old GWR Architecture!

Visited stations in and around Preston and Blackpool on the weekend. Some debatable traction around but some really nice stations on the South Fylde line! Salwick the major achievement though, as it's only got a few trains each direction. Luckily they pass about the same time.

After visiting Bradford-on-Avon, took a long walk by the Canal to Bath! The canal also runs near the railway line for a lot of the walk so it was a very nice walk indeed😀

Bradford-on-Avon, my 2000th UK station ticked! Well over 75% of stations ticked too🎉 Really nice station as well, restored brilliantly so it looks like it's historical days.

Warm day out today in the south of the country, ticking stations between Basingstoke and Dorchester! Briefly went to Lymington too which is lovely, as well as passing through the stunning New Forest. Bit of coastline too at times as well made for a great trip south☀️

Great journey all the way through to boiling London🥵 Fortunately the Aircon was pretty decent. It's clear to see though from today that these guys will not be regulated favourably against Avanti. All in all though, a fun first trip on Lumos west coast operations!

Headed back towards lowland Scotland today, spending time in Dunblane and Stirling. Can't believe I've never explored Stirling before, some stunning views of the castle and the distant mountains!

Star of the show yesterday though, the Hastings Diesel consist! Seen thundering through Golf Street at some speed. Seems appropriate for me too that my first sighting of it is in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Back in Scotland again! I've visited every station now but that doesn't stop me from coming back to this incredible country and getting on a few HSTs. Really nice to be here when the sun sets a lot later too, it gave me time to go back to Montrose. The views are amazing here!

Robin Hood Line ✅ Now done all the stations from Nottingham to Worksop. Line is fairly nice but there's some places on there I'll be happy never to go back to.

Back home into the UK now. Took a speedier more direct route than outbound to Hungary, but still managed time to stop off at Wuppertal for the incredible Schwebebahn. Final stop was Montagne de Bueren, a place I'm sure @MonsieurPiddly knows well...

Really impressed by the variety of locos and formations of trains in Hungary. The children's railway was a brilliant visit too, managed to land one of their nostalgia trains as it's a bank holiday here. I left Budapest via regiojet, where a pint and a pizza slice costs €3!

Taken a couple of trips out in Hungary too beyond Budapest. First one to the top of Lake Balaton, really nice to get away from the busy city environment to a peaceful lake. Second one is Gyor, quite a nice town with some brilliant architecture.
