The noise the internet used to make connecting on a dialup would. Blow. Their. Minds.
Oh my god someone posted to Reddit they just bought a hard drive and it’s making grinding sounds. They posted a video. It’s the read head moving. They’ve never heard a hard drive before. 💀

Is there value in a test that never fails?

Folks who have a LOT of automated tests for your app(s). Do you actively do anything to reduce the number of tests you have? Do you identify duplication / different tests that test the same functionality? If so, do you use this information to reactor/reduce your tests?

I often think code-and-fix is like playing the lottery. Lots of little investments, over a long time, very occasionally you get a big win. TDD is like scratch cards. Lots of small investments over and over, but you get a small win pretty regularly.

The best use of chat GPT I’ve seen so far: wtfdoesthiscompanydo.vercel.… Can’t understand a company website? This will figure it out for you. Exasperated by the website? It’ll also take the piss out of it.

Kids wanted to watch some of the coronation. The fawning @BBC commentary makes it unwatchable. Imagine it’s the same on every channel.

What #OpenSource projects are known for being 💖 to new contributors? Which would you recommend to someone who's new to open source and needs a supportive community to get started? (apart from @cucumberbdd of course 😀)

What are some common anti-patterns you see using user stories? I've written one up here that I like to call Epic Fail. tooky.uk/epic-fail

One of my favourite conferences is back - @SoCraTes_UK - #openspace residential makes for such a great experience. Hang out with other folks interested in the craft of software and testing, make the conference you want. Very recommended. socratesuk.org/

Great case study of a team moving away from pull requests to using TDD and ensembling. I love to work like this, and you can mattwynne.net/hire-me if you'd like me to share that love with your team!
Excellent blog post on Trunk Based Development in preference to Feature Branching here: "When you have a team, or teams, however, working on a project together, feature branching creates problems" infobip.com/developers/blog/…

This reminds me: If you have been to one of my or @tooky’s workshops before, we would love to have a short testimonial quote on our landing page. Please hit me up if you would like to do that for us!
Replying to @mattwynne @tooky
It's worth it for sure. I loved the workshop you gave once in a meetup.
