Owning a Windows 11 PC in 2025:
Turn on → update → reboot → store update → reboot → BIOS update → reboot.
Then Office updates → re-login to everything.
Start work.
Midway, new updates drop, break OneDrive, force another reboot.
Switch off PC. Give up.

Problems with @EnfieldCouncil voter registration form, the website, automated telephone line and sms service do not recognise the security code that came printed on the voter registration form. I had to call the helpline and actually speak with a member of staff to confirm. #vote

Rewatching Arrival and it still bugs me: why didn’t they start with binary? You’re trying to communicate with obviously intelligent beings—wouldn’t on/off, 1s and 0s be the most basic, universal way in?

Binary is fundamental—light/no light, signal/no signal. It’s not based on human language or culture. Once you agree on that basic logic system, you can build up—math, patterns, even language structure.
