Wonderful to see so much adventurous activity by Forest School at Singleton Park. Well done to Pixie, Neil, Katie and Sean for giving children and young people a chance to explore nature, experience outdoor learning and engage with the local environment. 👏

Brilliant to be out with the Swansea West Labour team knocking doors in Ynystawe last night. Morriston residents, don't miss your chance to elect the fantastic Rebecca Francis-Davies to be your local councillor on 18 June.

Lots of good stuff in the UK's new AI Hardware Plan, announced by @leicesterliz today. Great to see it building on both the AI Opportunities Action Plan and @ARIA_research's work on the Scaling Inference Lab. Lots to do, but this is smart, focused and appropriately ambitious.

It was great to hear views about the challenges facing Swansea the best bits about living here: unbeatable natural surroundings, community and culture. I’ll keep working to make sure we tackle the problems our communities face and protect the things that make us proud.

Very good news to start the weekend, especially on the back of the St Helens redevelopment kicking off.
Ospreys are delighted to announce that they have signed a new Professional Rugby Agreement (PRA25) with the @WelshRugbyUnion. The agreement, which runs until the end of the 27/28 season, signals a period of stability for the Region. A key element of the new agreement is that it provides for greater collaboration with the WRU, including growth of alignment on the playing side in particular. With work now underway at Ospreys’ new stadium at St. Helen’s, and now the signing of the PRA, the Region is looking forward to continuing its proud history as a key player in Welsh rugby. #OurBloodIsBlack

Today is not just any Friday. It's National Fish and Chip Day. The big question is: where does them best in Swansea?

Thank you to everyone in Swansea who took part in this process. As the consultation ends and the time for action arrives, I will make sure your voice is heard loud and clear. Nothing is more important than the safety and future of our children. swanseabaynews.com/social-me…

With incredible community spirit, unbeatable views and the brilliant @PhoenixTownhill, residents of Townhill and Mayhill have so much to be proud of. Great to see positive coverage of an area that should never have been defined by the behaviour of few. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c152…

Too many young people in Britain are struggling to get a foot on the jobs ladder. The problem has been building for the past twenty years - we're determined to tackle it head on.

Young people learn vital skills from their first jobs. I certainly did from mine - a busy pub needs its pots washed fast. But over the past twenty years, Britain has been letting our young people down. We've got to turn things around, and we're taking action to do so 👇

For two decades Britain has let young people down, with terrible consequences for individuals, families and the country. Thats why we’re acting: - 300k work placements - £3k bonus for hiring unemployed young people - tackling the fall in youth apprenticeships under the Tories

I commissioned Alan Milburn’s work because more opportunity for young people should be a national cause. We have begun with the Youth Guarantee. This powerful report shows we need to do all we can to put work and opportunity at the heart of what we do. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy02…

Important from Alan Milburn today - the Tories let NEET numbers soar to near 1m, cut youth apprenticeships by 40% & never got youth employment back to the levels seen under Tony Blair. We must reform our labour market, welfare, education & health systems to invest in young people
“That is not compassion, it is failure and cause for national shame.” Alan Milburn writes in today’s @TheSun ahead of releasing his interim report into out-of-work youngsters.
