This shameful op-ed should never have been published @nationalpost. Not only is it misleading (public perception towards these issues was shifting well before 2015) but it ignores #MurraySinclair’s important work before the TRC. nationalpost.com/opinion/the… #cdnpoli #racism #cdnmedia

Witness a prime example of an agitator and activist mimicking the very behaviour he claims to condemn. This tweet is deeply shameful. #cdnpoli
What an absolute disgrace that so many woke activists & authorities used Remembrance Day to push their divisive and radical causes, denigrating our history and the brave military members who sacrificed for it. We are a proud country with a proud history, and everyone who lives here should be grateful to call Canada home.

This is a critical campaign in #ldnont pushing back on significant cutbacks to @cityofldnont support for our non-profit sector. The organization that I am most familiar with operates with 35% of the city funding they had a decade ago. @PillarNN nwmd.social/s/twitter/5QuPYF…

So far my ⁦@CityofLdnOnt⁩ council has banned encampments from residential neighbourhoods, & now they have banned shelters from business improvement districts. It is hard to understand how this doesn’t lead to ghettoization of poverty in #ldnont lfpress.com/news/local-news/…

Yesterday was such a heavy day for a lot of us in the @westernu system.
It is with great sadness we acknowledge the profound loss of three remarkable members of the Indigenous community: Senator Murray Sinclair, Dan Smoke, and Amanda Kennedy (Kuwahs^nahawi). kings.uwo.ca/about-kings/med…

Brian Lilley ran a column today about how we will likely end up with a “balanced” budget in #onpoli. It is worth observing that #cdnpse is at a breaking point because so-called #RespectForTaxpayers policies have left our institutions w/o resources to support the public.

No more red tape… errr… only for alcohol sales and other inane projects, otherwise lots of red tape for people who threaten the status quo &, of course, bike lanes.

This is my take too. The Colborne bike lane in #ldnont is a critical piece of infrastructure for biking with my family. It will also be important for my kids once they start high school. The politicization of #bikelanes demonstrates all that is wrong with #cdnpoli.

We lost two amazing men yesterday who worked hard to ensure that Canadians understood the importance of Indigenous cultures & histories to the constitutional fabric of Canada. I never met Murray Sinclair, but I knew Dan Smoke well. May they both rest in peace. #cdnpoli #cdnmedia

This messaging is profoundly disappointing & represents all that is wrong in #cdnpoli. It is hard to believe that so many Canadians seeming willing to endorse a politician so willing to go low.
At every chance he gets, Trudeau will pickpocket Canadians with new & higher taxes. Gas, groceries, paycheques, and even beer, Trudeau wants to tax it all. Sign to axe the tax hikes: conservative.ca/cpc/stop-all…

This applies to me too in #ldnont. I can bike most places as quickly as driving. When I lived in #Halifax in the mid-2000s, I could ride from the HFX shopping centre to @HistorySmu just as quickly as driving. The main impediment to biking for rational actors is safety.
This is one major reason that I continue to bike to work. Biking takes 13-15 minutes no matter what. Driving takes as little as 12 minutes with no traffic (i.e. after 9 pm) or up to 30 minutes in heavy traffic (i.e. when I actually go to work).

This is exactly right. Most people opposed to #bikelanes don’t understand what it is like to bike & how our infrastructure actively prevents people from choosing this option. #onpoli
My father-in-law, a lifelong suburban car owner with no real interest in cycling, became pro-bike lane when his daughter-in-law started cycling to work every day. He shifted on a dime. He cared deeply about making sure she’d be safe out there (that’s me btw). What happened to empathy in this Province? I’m amazed at the total lack of regard for the safety of others. We are not a mean city, but the Province shows no sense of community, respect, or shared responsibility. It’s as if compassion has been lost in the race to prioritize convenience over people. It seems to me as though these Provincial conservatives advocating for ripping up critical infrastructure were raised poorly. You can’t build a thriving society on this level of selfishness.
