Had lots of bloods taken today at Hillsborough Health centre and Nathan was great! Got vein first time, painless and took about 8 vials no problem. Good chair with arm support & foot raise. I have a phobia but not a problem today. I find all the treatment room nurses great.

Attended a @healthdpt cancer research strategy workshop this week. The strategy MUST focus single mindedly on- what research do we need to save lives & reduce suffering from cancer for NI citizens & how will these be delivered. NOT how do we create economic growth (aka make money from cancer) This is a health strategy, not a strategy for the economy. Can someone explain this please? @mikenesbittni @CArchibald_SF @moneillsf @little_pengelly @DianeDoddsMLA @mcguigan_philip

Thank you Joanne Clayton at Ulster Hospital for putting my cannula in today! If anyone is anxious or fine veins ask for Joanne! She is brilliant. It transforms a traumatic experience. They need a new chair for putting cannulas in as it’s been broken for over a year @healthdpt

e.g. red flag referrals-we know GPS are causing a backlog by excessive red flag referrals and sending people to A&E. Not their fault when ‘urgent’ referrals have a wait of 1 year currently. Life or death choice?

This has to be an urgent turning point and reset for the NI cancer strategy. The public has been let down and a continuation of the same failures and lack of improvements for patients cannot be allowed to continue. Money is not the problem. Incompetence and inefficiency is.

We need honesty, transparency and urgent remedial action now, not Mike Nesbitt reading off prepared scripts, telling us how wonderfully everything is going. That is not true & the public needs the truth. No more shameful gaslighting. People are suffering & dying unnecessarily

3 yrs of inaction on the NI cancer strategy-time for us to act.I am a patient rep on the programme board- our concerns have finally led to change of leadership but it is still people who have been complicit in the inaction, serious issues & lack of patient focus. Not good enough
