This is so spot on. And the reason we should have started change by electing someone like @MattMahanSJ. We can’t keep going on like this in CA. The establishment, in their quest for attention and power, has completely failed us.
California is one of the most dynamic places on the planet. But it is a case study in how a rich society can spend more and more while producing less and less of what its ordinary citizens need. My take:

This one is on us - why do we let the leaders neglect our downtown and why do people come to our city to commit their crimes? TikTok influencer killed for his chain in downtown Oakland sfchronicle.com/eastbay/arti…

This isn’t a championship player. I don’t know what he could possibly do to redeem himself in San Antonio.

My city councilwoman’s DSA-backed challenger is running on a platform of retiring our Flock cameras, so people like these gentlemen can more easily steal cars from law-abiding citizens and engage in violent turf wars, here in Oakland.
One of the most prolific criminals in all of San Francisco tells @adam22 that “crime in San Francisco is over with” because of Flock cameras drones. He complains that he can’t even do drivebys anymore. It’s simple: when the risk of getting caught is too high, crime plummets.

BREAKING: Ken Paxton’s own lawyer just endorsed James Talarico: “I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases. But in my view, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas.  And unlike Ken, I believe that you, James, believe in unity over division and that you know how to assemble not only Democrats but Independents and Republicans and we need that right now.  We need unity, we don't need any more division and that's why I'm supporting you.”

No one is feeling great about our candidates. And for good reason.

I feel fortunate to have seen the bulk of Jordan’s career, all of Kobe’s, LeBron, Steph and Tiger. But Shohei is by far the most uniquely gifted professional athlete I’ve ever seen. Unreal.

Listen to Tim Legler’s breakdown of Chet Holmgren’s disappointing performance in Game 7, but replace Chet with our current political leaders and it all makes sense.

Measure E, the proposed parcel tax, is the litmus test for how educated Oakland voters are now AND how much Oakland trusts its leaders.

It’s time for the city to show and prove. Then we can learn to trust again.

It’s time for some accountability.

Replying to @oaklandreportca
Public Employee Unions in Oakland are majority non-Oakland residents. As non-citizens of Oakland, their measure should not be considered a citizen-sponsored one. Gaming the system this way is FRAUD.

Why would we, as residents of Oakland who depend on the City as a center for commerce AND as a City the needs all the help we can get, be ok with paying employees to stay home? How does that make any sense?
'The S-word: strike': City union warns of a strike if city council does not approve pay raises, other demands. 👇 "I stood in a photo with you before I knocked doors for Measure E on Saturday."
