Princess Crown SPOILER!
If you haven't played it but plan to play it, don't watch this, but I wanna talk about this!
So after you finish Princess Gradriel's story (the main plot) you get to go on side quests with the supporting cast. You'll see what they do while the Princess is faffing about, and you even meet her a couple times with the others (really cool!).
There is one part where Gradriel has to find a gem to get an answer from the dragon Hindel and we don't think much of it. Edward one of the supporting cast also does this to get the answer to a question which we didn't know about while playing the main story.
Now with Portgus, the third story I picked he also ended up bringing him a gem to settle an old feud with a demon which we didn't know about at all either!
Now Hindel drops the ominus "That makes three..."
Unwillingly as the player, through playing all of the characters stories, we notice that they all independently bring the dragon Hindel a gem in exchange of a favor to solve their own problems, while presumably creating a way bigger problem down the line.
This is simple but so effective writing which interacts with the player too, because we do this! The player personally acquires and brings the gems over! This would be way less effective if the other characters just did it off-screen or in cutscene. But we deliberately get sent on the quests to collect the gems for him, without knowing the reason why he wants them (you'd assume he just likes treasure from the way he lives)
I'm so excited to find out what happens if he gets all 4!
