If ever a “nix fixes this” were true, this has to be the most fixiest of this that nix fixes
I think yesterday was an inflection point. Companies are done allowing their users to npm install without it going through an internal registry.

Unfortunate but true
sometimes public opinion is just correct. when you’re 4 shots deep, “Mr. Brightside” really is the greatest song ever recorded.

I tried polyphasjc sleep once when I was 16, I was so convinced
Silicon Valley S10E5: Pied Piper discovers the Claude Code offers 2x rate limits between 5–11 AM. Richard and Dinesh go full polyphasic sleep to exploit it. Meanwhile Gavin Belson tries to mandate the same at Hooli and ends up losing half his engineering team.

Devs sticking to CLIs is our faster horses of the era. Horses are nice though!
I've certainly deployed beyond a demo. There is nothing MCP does that wouldn't be better handled by a CLI that wraps it for you. It's more composable. It's faster. It's useful in multiple situations.

is there something like the opposite of autism where you're exceptionally skilled at reading people and love being around them, and instead of perceiving the world through categories you see it all as divinely connected and full of signs everywhere

One thing I see a lot of very smart people getting wrong about the future is what moats will still exist. Taste and distribution are not going to be effective moats. The only moat will be an actual moat. If your team is not physically excavating the earth around your office while a dozen Claude agents build your app, you're ngmi. The companies who figure this out first are going to be impossible to compete with.

A stray thought, maybe I'll expand on it later: I think the left has two different paths for how to react or lead through AI-driven transformations of the world. Basically, it's a choice between statism and liberation.

It is an undeniable fact that the general public uses the phrase "begs the question" incorrectly, for the simple reason that their usage of the term is wrong.

Packers lose 27 yards of field position for intercepting the ball, but getting in Caleb's head this early on might have been worth it

I figured out a uv recipe for running tests for any project with pyproject.toml or setuppy using any Python version: uv run --python 3.14 --isolated --with-editable '.[test]' pytest I've wrapped it in a uv-test script: uv-test -p 3.11 Full details:til.simonwillison.net/python…

Why the hell would you ever trade this guy lol
Micah Parsons on Packers' defense coming out of the bye: "I told the guys today – be phenomenal or be forgotten. "No one talks about good defenses. We’ve seen a lot of good defenses. 11, 12 weeks of the year, they’re pretty good. But those other weeks, what did they look like? You think about those great defenses – the Ravens, Denver, Chicago still get brought up because of what they did consistent for 17 weeks. We gotta be great."

I know it's barely been one game and ten minutes but I'm pretty sure this is the most fun-to-watch Packers team in my lifetime. #GOPACKGO
