Recently, more people from overseas have started following me, so I’d like to explain a little about the Japanese language 😊🇯🇵
In Japanese, we often omit subjects and pronouns (such as “I,” “you,” or “he/she”).
Sometimes we even omit the object of a sentence. 😂
For example, a complete conversation can sometimes be built from phrases like:
“Went there!”
“Ate it!”
“Got one!”
without clearly stating who did what.
Japanese people often rely not only on words themselves, but also on context, situations, relationships, and even the atmosphere of a conversation to understand meaning.
Because of this, automatic translation and AI can sometimes struggle with Japanese. 😅
As a result, Japanese posts and replies may occasionally be translated in a way that sounds strange or conveys a slightly different meaning than intended.
If a machine-translated version of one of my posts or replies doesn’t make sense, or feels confusing, please don’t hesitate to ask me. 😊
I’ll do my best to explain it in a way that’s easy to understand. 🌸
Japanese is sometimes a language that makes AI cry. 🤣

This is one of the most violent things ever made in an American restaurant. 100 hamburger patties. 100 slices of cheese. Nearly 20,000 calories. After this order was fulfilled the company (In-N-Out burger) set a max limit of what you can order - 4 patties and 4 slices of cheese.

At one of our fast food places, Arby's, if you ask for a Meat Mountain then they give you a sandwich with all the meat they sell all together.

Hershey Park is pretty bad too 😂
I got 1 for the 4 of us to share so we didn’t immediately need insulin.
Plus though is they have chocolate massages.

ちなみに日本人はKFCをKFCとはほぼ呼ばなくて「ケンタ(kenta)」か「ケンタッキー(kentakkī)」なので、「ケンタ食べたい」「ケンタッキー食べたよ」みたいに言います🤣

前に海外の方達にグレイビーについて質問した時に、日本のKFCには「グレイビー」っていうメニューがないって言ったら驚かれたんだけど日本のKFCだとグレイビーじゃなくてハチミツとメープルシロップを合わせた甘い「特製ハニーメイプル」をビスケットにかけるの。
あと日本のKFCで販売されているビスケットは中央に穴のあいたドーナツ型で、シロップが染み込みやすい独自の形状をしてるよ。
この間までこれが世界共通だと思ってた😂
これ本当にカルチャーショック！

なぜ日本のKFCではグレイビーではなく、特製ハニーメイプルになったのかの理由を調べたので追記しておきます🍯
本場の味覚との違い：アメリカ南部の伝統的な「ビスケット＆グレイビー」は朝食や食事として親しまれています。しかし、日本で展開するにあたり、食事ではなく「食後のデザートやおやつ」として楽しむスタイルの方が日本人の味覚に合うと判断されました。
日本人向けの絶妙な塩加減：日本のKFCのビスケット生地にはあらかじめ塩味が効いており、甘いハニーメイプルをかけることで「甘じょっぱい（塩スイーツ）」絶妙な美味しさが完成するように計算されています。
独自のメニュー展開：そもそも日本のKFCでは、ビスケットはチキンの付け合わせではなく、単品のサイドメニューやデザートとして位置づけられています。

In Japanese culture, there is an aesthetic concept called Mono no Aware (物の哀れ).
Simply put, it is the ability to be moved by the fact that all things change and pass with time.
For example, Japanese people find beauty not only in cherry blossoms at full bloom, but also in falling petals and even in the fresh green leaves that appear after the blossoms are gone.
We may admire the changing phases of the moon or feel the passing of the seasons as snow melts away.
It is not simply sadness over something being lost.
Rather, it is the feeling that something is beautiful because it will not last forever.
I love this way of thinking 🇯🇵
Perhaps this is one reason Japanese has so many words to describe changing aspects of nature, such as cherry blossoms, snow, and the moon 🌸❄️🌙
