It has been difficult to speak intersectionality and anti-racism into mainstream media when the focus is my @DaytimeEmmys nomination. I'm grateful to @tamronhall for letting me be all of myself today.
We’re proud to shed light and share inspiring stories such as @TurnerSchofield’s. He is the first openly transgender man nominated for an acting Emmy!

I had to nuance 20 British masc character voices (and 1 Australian) so I will absolutely retweet this compliment, shamelessly. Listen to All The White Spaces by Ally Wilkes on your audiobook machine! Polar horror and amazing trans representation, so so good!
Every character’s voice was so well developed - not a small feat considering that Australia, Wales, England, Scotland, and a bungled larynx were represented! Hats off - another reason why this book was so good is because of your performance!

Slow clap, Florida. Harming struggling youth you wouldn’t look at in a non-election year because…you can. The lack of humanity is unreal. I’m sorry you have to take this punch, trans & enby youth. But, ask me how I know, this will launch you directly into making a better world.

If you haven’t listened to ALL THE WHITE SPACES by @UnheimlichManvr yet, a gentle reminder that it’s horror season…
Marvelous performance! I knit while I listen and set my work down repeatedly. not since Simmon’s “The Terror” or Paver’s “Dark Matter” have I been so satisfied - when horror, literature, and extreme exploration meet, it’s like falling into a crevasse made for me. THANK YOU.

Listen to a legit trans expert who has worked tirelessly for the community for decades: “Policy debates concerning transgender people are embroiled in the culture wars. Let data and science — not politicians — guide laws.” go.nature.com/3RiRNVa

The @nytimes coverage of #transgender issues has become so negatively one sided, with such poor journalism, that I’m strongly considering unsubscribing, even though I’ve been a daily reader for 10 years. Do better. Or at least stop causing harm by platforming biased hacks.

Jumping on the Kevin Bacon trend: I exec produced #theyslashthem on @peacock with him. My favorite part was creating a social impact campaign around the film’s central issue with his amazing charity, @SixDegreesofKB. He’s a truly caring human doing good (beyond entertaining us)

Sending love & luck to the whole team @euphoriaHBO for the #Emmys2022 tonight. I'm proud of this show and all the messy realness that makes it. Thanks to @BiancaRae & @SpecNews1SoCal for highlighting my part in the story. bit.ly/3QDHQkT

“He mentions being proud of Jules’ special episode, 'F**k Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob'. "What came out of that is a masterpiece of trans representation. Other networks are doing trans 101 transition narratives...and we were able to say something so deep."” bit.ly/3mT5Fc5

I’m proud to have worked with SixDegrees.org on this impact campaign around the film #TheySlashThem, to raise awareness about the real horrors of conversion therapy and raise funds for one of the movement’s most effective organizations, BornPerfect.org.

"It's meaningful Kevin Bacon would choose to help raise awareness about the abuse LGBTQ youth face in so-called 'conversion therapy' because the reason why it's still happening is because there's silence about it." Text BORN PERFECT to 44321 to give. bit.ly/3JNugcM

"Allyship is as simple as accepting that young LGBTQ people do know who they are, and sticking up for us when we get treated unfairly. @KevinBacon can do that on a larger scale than most of us." Text BORN PERFECT to 44321 & help end conversion therapy. bit.ly/3JNugcM

The award for Sanest Human In Hollywood goes to @pattonoswalt. Read all the parts about so-called “cancel culture,” listen to him, allow it to change how you think & talk about this issue, because we need to move forward — and his POV will help us do it. bit.ly/3Q7pJo6

To all the folks bringing up @JohnLeguizamo playing Italian — Scorsese, Pacino, De Niro, Pesci, Travolta, Turturro, Gandolfini, Mantegna…the list goes on. Italians do not have an issue getting hired in Hollywood. What Mr. Leguizamo is highlighting is…

People make mistakes and also have the capacity to recognize them and do better moving forward. Hollywood is an industry made of people. This does not have to be a fight — it can just be a better story for more people.

The more films centering LGBTQ creatives from script to screen, the more people see and understand LGBTQ perspectives, the less "different" audiences will view ourselves and each other. I see They/Them as a step in that direction. bit.ly/3OELQR7
