A new law has come into force banning the use of tyres over 10 years old on the front wheels of lorries, buses and coaches.
It follows nearly a decade of campaigning by the mother of 18-year-old Michael Molloy, who was killed in a coach crash.

Back in 2014 I introduced a bill to Parliament to ban the use of old tyres on public service vehicles.
Today I'm made up for @MolloyFrances and @tyreduk that legislation comes into force to finally make that happen.

Following discussions with @tyreduk, we introduced this rule for hackney and private hire vehicles last year.
