I don't know who needs to hear this, but:
If you're a lifelong coffee drinker who's had it every day for years or even a decade , reduce your microplastic exposure immediately to avoid adding to the cumulative effects of your long-term habit. Avoid paper cups (lined with plastic), drink organic coffee when possible, skip K-Cups and Keurigs, and opt for Nespresso capsules instead (coffee encased in aluminum). Avoid plastic coffee brewers and choose alternatives like a French press, pour-over, or plastic-free coffee maker.
Unfortunately, I’ve broken many of these rules for a very long time but I’ve made changes over the years. I wonder how 12 years of coffee drinking has affected me, especially all those microplastics and plastic byproducts.
The more you can practice this the better.
