However, several critical issues remain outstanding. Some of those issues concern the UAW’s demands for concessions on subjects that are not typically considered terms and conditions of employment but are part of the UAW’s apparent social justice agenda, such as housing, transportation, and parity for international scholars and researchers. Additionally, the UAW continues to be inflexible in its demands for exorbitant wage increases which are unreasonable and infeasible. Yet, the University has continued to make fair proposals on compensation that are responsive to the concerns raised by the UAW, competitive, and fiscally responsible.
