In 2021, Divock Origi donated a sum of money to the University of Liverpool to establish the Divock Origi Scholarship.
The scholarship was set up to help students from the city of Liverpool who couldnโt afford university education.
The last batch of the scholarship was offered in the 2024-25 academic year and the last cohort awarded scholarships are expected to graduate in 2029. Thatโs a single player there.
Today, Origi has no club, but he has left an indelible mark on a city and its people. Some of those students will remember him for changing their lives for good.
And itโs just one of the many good causes footballers engage in.
From a Nigerian context, we all see what Rasheedat Ajibade does with indigent students who canโt afford JAMB fees. Itโs an incredible feeling when people who have been opportune to be impactful extend a gracious hand.
