crypto’s biggest mistake is trying to educate people into complexity instead of designing around it

my dad maintained the floors at wtc before the towers collapsed the other day he walked into a costco and saw a robot doing a job he’d done for 35 years taxi cabs and delivery drivers are being replaced by autonomous robots at an accelerated rate working class/uneducated americans don’t stand a chance it’s just the start

i understand the PoV that AI-related job losses are really just leaning out fat from what has been effectively corporate-administered welfare but also, take a moment to consider what happens when you eliminate that en masse, increase productivity simultaneously, and reassign all of that existing and new economic benefit to capital-owners instead of people trying to make ends meet the result will be an even worse distribution of wealth and more societal unrest

founder-led marketing is powerful because it feels authentic/human but when that person burns out or missteps, the narrative burns with them in a way they are our celebrities they assume the product (or aura) will convert people, and while partly true every chain has a dex, a stablecoin, a launchpad, a wallet

sf is interesting because it is full of early adopters that tinker with technology two to three years ahead of the mainstream consciousness crypto is interesting because it is full of early adopters that run financial experiments with billions of dollars live five to ten years ahead of traditional finance hyperp markets on pre-TGE tokens and prediction markets on fdv 24h post TGE are fascinating because they are early experiments on these types of markets for how IPOs will be traded in the future prediction markets on earnings are far preferable for folks that want directional exposure given 'you can be right and still be wrong' with call options on equities

there's a sketch called the "the process of design squiggle" by damien newman which was inspired by his experience working at xerox parc this framework helped create the mouse, ethernet, and personal computer as we know today every cycle feels like a new attempt at clarity
