I was glad to launch the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo at Munyonyo today. Uganda remains one of the most unique tourism destinations because of our favourable climate, rich culture, peace and natural beauty. Regarding Ebola, there is no cause for alarm. We are applying targeted measures and continuing to work scientifically to keep people safe while keeping our economy open. As our economy grows towards upper-middle-income status, we shall also improve the tourism experience, including friendlier visa arrangements to attract more visitors. I therefore welcome the world to come and explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Kabaka of the Buganda Kingdom, has today visited Murchison Falls National Park. He now sets a powerful example for all of us to participate in domestic tourism, by visiting our national parks and other tourist attractions that destination Uganda has got to offer. Uganda has received a donation of 8 Rhinos (4 males & 4 females) from South Africa bringing their total to 59 and these will be quarantined st Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The reception was witnessed by the Commissioner Biodiversity Management, John Makombo, who represented the Executive Director of Uganda Wildlife Authority, together with senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Uganda Tourism Board and UWA senior management.

As usual this weekend we shall be doing it again in @TheGuluMarathon miss at your own risk

We not only participated in the @Elgonmarathon but also managed to hike Wanale hill to the bottom of the falls. All this being aimed at promoting domestic tourism through sports and #ExploreUganda brand. Thank you team @UNDPUganda @joshuacheptege1 @ugwildlife and @MTWAUganda
