So far I've attended 2
#TRBAM workshops, 4 committee meetings, and a couple of sessions - all interesting and useful. But subcommittee meetings today are the most exciting for me: focused, actionable, open, and accessible to all.
Question for #TRBAM veterans: how do you find time to act on everything you've learned or ideas/goals you identified during the meeting? Each year I'm energized and excited by the opportunities and then day-to-day happens and capacity and excitement fades... until next year.
Come meet your Operations colleagues at number 8 tables. Seasoned #TRBAM veterans, including the Section Chair @bertini_robert, are here to welcome you and help you get started.
If you're new to the TRB community and #TRBAM, the New Attendee Engagement Session is underway in Ballrooms A and B. It's packed but there are some seats up front. #transportation#research
#TRBAM Sunday workshops are kicking off. I would highly recommend a workshop on #Transportation#Data Exchanges at 101 Convention Center. We are exploring federal, state, and private sector views and context around these exchanges.
LBS #privacy conversation at #TransportationCampDC shows the complexity of the topic. Consumer choice, legislation and regulation, impact of market duopoly, value and current business models, monetization, etc.
One major benefit of virtual conferences is that live demos and presentations with screenshots tend to be much easier to see on my own screen than in a giant room with a projector and a small projection screen.
Rephrasing some statistics really helps put things in perspective: "7 Americans will die [in a crash] before this [90-minute] session ends." #transpo2022
Justin Owens (with @VTTINEWS) speaking about opportunities to better protect vulnerable road users using vehicle automation, with additional focus on disabled road users. #ITSDC
ITS DC spring event is kicking off today at @DDOTDC offices and virtually. Today's topic is vulnerable road user #safety which is hugely important in urban areas.
The "I have so many new ideas and actions I'm going to take as soon as I come back from #TRBAM" feeling is starting to set in again. One day I will actually act on those before non-TRB day to day work derail many of them.
Our team is out in full force for the last day of #TRBAM exhibits. Stop by to learn about the latest innovations in #DataAnalytics to support #transportation operations and planning.
