🗣️ “That first half belonged to Vozinha. Let's be honest, Spain could easily have scored three or four goals before the break if not for him.
Every time Spain created a clear chance, he had an answer. It got to the point where the Spanish forwards were starting to wonder what they had to do to beat him.
What impressed me wasn't just the saves it was the confidence. He looked completely unfazed despite wave after wave of pressure.
You could see the frustration building among the Spanish players. The more chances they missed, the stronger he seemed to become.
For me, that's the sign of a top goalkeeper. Not only does he stop shots, he changes the mentality of the opposition.
Cape Verde were under enormous pressure, but Vozinha kept them alive almost single-handedly in that first half.
And if this match is still level going into the later stages, Spain will look back at those first 45 minutes and realize they missed their chance because Vozinha simply refused to let them score.”
