Every day, we must keep fighting for kids and a stronger Wisconsin. Just saw this call is happening and want to encourage folks to join them – we must continue to tell the story of how to best serve kids and it surely isn’t by cutting nutrition programs. Hungry kids can’t learn.
Join Rooted, REAP, Healthy School Meals 4 All WI, Rooted and @welloggb for an open Zoom call TODAY, from 3–4 PM to discuss funding cuts to local Food for Schools and Child Care programs, & farmToschool share insights, and collaborate on the paths forward! isthmus.com/events/funding-c…
Tonight, we celebrate a win for public education—and for every kid, parent, and educator in Wisconsin.
I’m deeply honored to continue serving as your State Superintendent. 🧵
But the work isn’t done.
With growing threats from Washington—including efforts to dismantle the Dept. of Ed—we must stay united and protect our schools.
I will keep fighting:
📚 For our students
🍎 For our educators
🏫 And for the future we all believe in
Thank you, Wisconsin, for trusting me to continue this work.
—Dr. Jill Underly
State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Polls are open until 8 PM—what’s your plan to vote today?

Brittany Kinser keeps claiming Jill Underly “lowered standards.”
But here’s the truth:
Wisconsin ranks 10th in the nation in cumulative NAEP scores—and 6th in the country in the latest U.S. News & World Report public education rankings.
That’s not failure. That’s results.
Trump’s cuts to local food programs are already hurting Wisconsin—schools, childcare centers, food banks, and farmers.
Brittany Kinser thinks “talking to Republicans” will fix it.
That’s not a plan. It’s naïve.
We need a fighter, not a bystander.
LETTER: Don't fall for this, voters. If Brittany Kinser has to use deceit to boost her chances of becoming the steward of statewide public education, she doesn't deserve the job.
Her goal is to expand charter school funding at the expense of our public schools, which are already underfunded. We certainly can't afford two parallel systems of schools in our state.
Vote Jill Underly and support our public schools.
I’m proposing a $60M investment in Career & Technical Education across Wisconsin. This means better equipment, stronger programs, and real opportunities for students to graduate ready for the workforce. It’s time to raise the bar—and invest in their future.
Dr. Jill Underly’s record speaks for itself. She is THE choice to fight for education in Wisconsin.
Make your plan to vote for Dr. Underly now: wisdems.org/vote
Brittany Kinser wants to tie Wisconsin’s education system to a federal test that may not even exist next month.
It’s reckless, it’s out of touch, and it proves she’s more interested in political talking points than real education policy or a plan for the future.
