A youth coach should not be judged by: - Trophies - weekend records - youth rankings They should be judged years later by: - how many kids stayed in basketball - how many improved - how many still love the game

At the elementary level: Joy comes first. Fundamentals come second. Winning comes third. Ironically, programs that prioritize the first two usually win more later anyway. Long term development beats short term shortcuts If you coach any youth sport, this applies to you!
