Hey guys - due to a change in our plans, the main space at Levenshulme Old Library is currently available for the entire summer break. We originally cancelled all summer bookings due to the anticipated closure, however we've just learned that this closure is no longer required.

The Kinder Scout Mass Trespass took place #OTD 1932, organised by Manchester communist leader and Jewish anti-fascist Benny Rothman, secretary of the British Workers' Sports Federation. The Peak District was designated the UK’s first national park in April 1951.
92 years ago today (24 April, 1932) the Kinder Scout Mass Trespass took place. This marked the beginning of the right-to-roam movement. 🥾 Thanks to these pioneers we can now all enjoy the right to access our Peak District National Park. 💚 👉 bit.ly/MassTrespass

Been to the BL so many times and never realised it looks like a ship - feels like one of those optical illusions clicking into place
Don't think the visual metaphor of this building has ever struck me so strongly as it does tonight. Something beautiful about the ship, pulled up right in the heart of London.

It is probably a mistake to put the future of human civilisation in the hands of people who don't understand what a book is.

I think we will stop publishing books, but instead publish “thunks”, which are nuggets of thought that can interact with the “reader” in a dynamic and multimedia way. There can still be classic linear “passive read mode”, but that can be autogenerated based on the recipient’s level of existing context and knowledge.
