Today, on International Day for Biological Diversity, sturgeon juveniles were released into the wild in the Caspian Sea. Natig Bakhishov, USACC Executive Director attended the release ceremony in the Neftchala district, a region widely recognized for its rich fishery and aquaculture traditions. Our team also visited Azerbaijan Fish Farm’s sturgeon facility. The company's use of advanced technologies and sustainable farming protocols helps ensure the protection and growth of sturgeon populations in the Caspian basin. The release ceremony, co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and private fish farms, stands as an excellent example of public-private partnership contributing to the preservation and restoration of Ponto-Caspian sturgeon species.

Chargé d'Affaires Amy Carlon opened the Advanced Sanctions Compliance and Financial Risk Management Conference on May 14, which brought together U.S. experts and Azerbaijani financial sector leaders to discuss due diligence best practices, sanctions evasion, and secure supply chains along major international transit routes.

The United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with @crdfglobal and the Azerbaijan Banks Association (@BanksAzerbaijan), successfully concluded a two-day advanced program on sanctions compliance and financial risk management for Azerbaijani banks and financial institutions. The program was supported by the Department of State (@StateDept), Office of Cooperative Threat Reduction. We extend our sincere appreciation to all participating banks, as well as their legal and compliance officers, for their insightful contributions and active engagement throughout the program.
