I just had a great call with @asal_alizade from the @Base team! She is leading Base in the UAE and is also responsible for Base’s Startup initiative. When she reached out to schedule a call, I was intrigued: I’ve been hoping to see a stronger startup focus from the Base team. imo, supporting and backing builders to develop great products, sustainable business models, and to tokenize them is the most important task of any ecosystem team. Everything starts and ends with products, applications, and tokenization in an onchain economy, and Builders are the lifeblood of every chain. Traders, users, and creators are active where builders are active. There’s no chicken-and-egg problem. It’s all about the builders. So when I joined the call, I had a few hopes and expectations, and I can say: they were pleasantly exceeded. First of all: Asal is experienced, sharp, and thoughtful. It was a real pleasure getting to know her better and learning more about what she’s working on. Not only did it align with what I had in mind. it genuinely felt like a β€œmatch made in heaven” in terms of what we’re building. At its core, Backroom is an onchain fundraising platform that incubates, accelerates, and supports builders end-to-end: from designing tokenomics, to planning GTM, to facilitating raises and launching tokens. We want to help skilled and hungry developers build great products and sustainable businesses onchain. On Base. I can’t share all the details of the startup initiative or how exactly we’re involved just yet, but there are strong synergies between Base’s initiative and Backroom. We share the same goals, and it only makes sense to work closely together to grow the onchain economy on Base. Still day one. More excited and motivated to build on Base than ever. 🀝🟦

You only need USDC on Base. β‡’ What benefits does $ROOM staking have? β€’ If the sale is oversubscribed, $ROOM stakers are protected from dilution based on their staking weight. Staking remains open until the final minute of the sale. β‡’ How much time do I have to invest? Is it first-come first-served? β€’ You have max. 24 hours to participate, and the sale will close afterwards. Funds are collected during the full sale window - it is not FCFS. Allocations are finalized after the sale ends. β‡’ How much is being raised in total? What happens to any excess amount? β€’ The raise targets a min. of $75k (soft cap) and a max. of $150k (hard cap). Once the hard cap is reached, FDV is fixed at the maximum, and the sale can be oversubscribed. In the event of an oversubscription, allocations are adjusted pro rata with support from Staking Boost. Unused funds are automatically refunded. β‡’ How much money can I commit? β€’ There is no min./max. per wallet. However, each wallet can only submit one bid. β‡’ When is the TGE? Step 2: After a successful fundraising round, the team seeds an LP on @AerodromeFi and kickstarts the flywheel with liquidity and trading incentives and, if listed, can also deposit voting incentives on Aerodrome.
