Day 111 Put in the fog of war to the main game and implemented a basic "Buildings and units can see". I'll soon be controlling the resources and non-player units' visibility. if it's black, you can't see anything. #100daysofgamedev #gamedev #indiedev #madewithunity #AGTTDS

Day 110 Tackled the fog of war shader applying to Unity's terrain and followed a tutorial by @runewake2 , it walked through surf shaders but I had to use vert/frag so there was some conversion needed Very cool video! #100daysofgamedev #gamedev #indiedev #madewithunity #AGTTDS

Our technical art wizard is at it again.

ALT Several cubes move around an unrevealed map, leaving behind "explored" territory that will show terrain, but not enemies. Enemies can only be seen in direct proximity to the player's combat units

If the pixel is white, there's no need to do any additional work, it's just the original first pass If the pixel is black, ignore the first pass's result and instead render it as unlit black

If it's grey, overlay the first pass's result with a dark grey colour with some alpha less than one, this "tints" it darker what a ride. There's still some things needing ironing out, like how to get this to work with unity's terrain function. It doesn't like multiple textures.
