Today is #TalkSlowDay. People w/ #aphasia, #apraxia, and #dysarthria aren’t “slow.” We just need more time. When you slow down, stay present, and stay patient, we can join the conversation fully. Talking slowly isn’t talking down — it’s making space. #stroke #NationalAphasiaMonth

There are many invisible or hidden disabilities after #stroke. Allodynia is one. When normal touch feels like pain, it’s not just sensitivity — it’s neurological. #NationalStrokeAwarenessMonth #Allodynia

Before my shoulder surgery, #stroke was mentioned as a rare complication - I didn’t think much of it. I was healthy and passed every pre‑op test. Still, 40 hrs later, I had a stroke. Surgery can be an uncommon stroke risk. If something feels “off” afterward get help.

Happy May. It’s National Stroke Awareness Month, and my stroke anniversary is this month too. I had a stroke in 2019 after a routine surgery — unexpected and life‑changing. I’ll be sharing awareness posts all month to help others recognize symptoms and get help quickly.
