Arabic Poetry: The Magic of Words — When Falsehood Sounds Better Than Truth
The poet said:
Fancy speech can make falsehood look attractive,
while the truth may suffer from poor expression.
You might say, “This is the honey of bees,” to praise it,
but if you want to criticise it, you call it “the vomit of wasps.”
It is all just praise and insult, nothing more than that;
the magic of words can make darkness seem like light.
