I had breakfast at the castle I used to work at with my Daughter yesterday, it was delicious, as we walked out we passed the flowering sage and I remembered making this sage flower and roast squash tart

It is a rather muggy day this end so I am making some Morrocan mint and fresh lime juice coolers.
I will reduce the mint tea, chill, add fresh squeezed lime juice and serve over ice.
The mint is from my garden💚

Around 29 years ago when we built
our house Dad helped me witb th garden.
He brought these Iris tubors amongst many other cuttings and plants.
All this time later they still flower majestic each May
They remind me of him.
I have cut some for Mum.

Supper last night was an easy yet delicious affair
An avocado liberally seasoned with Maldon salt and ground black pepper topped with the claw meat from a lobster caught on our little boat.
The meat in the head is superb, I scooped that out greedily with a spoon!

I have been baking Barra Brith
I soaked sultanas and peel overnight in strong hot tea along with sugar and spices
A long slow bake later and.....

Do you remember a few weeks back I was waiting less than patiently for the wild garlic in my local woodland to flower?
Well my foodie prayers have been more than answered!!
I just love them in salads and #homemade bread.

I took a tumble yesterday and landed on my posteria, thankfully it is well padded!
Feeling a little stiff and sorry for myself and in need of comfortI have taken healthy Scottish porridge and smothered it in double cream, Irish honey and spice.

I didnt realy think through the planting in my little garden, it is now a straight on fight between spinach and bluebells!
They both seem to be thriving though.

Our creel boat is back in the water,we fish sustainably for crab, lobster and line caught fish.
This persute has contributed greatly to Brunch, local eggs, lobster and tomato toasts left everyone wanting more!
So If like me you are into #sustainable low carbon footprint eating I could not recommend this light fruity dessert enough
Stewed local rhubarb, sweet local strawberries and homemade frozen black pepper yogart.
A little basil realy brings a llvely perfum.
