I think the hotd writers also have a very weird obsession with giving olivia/alicent unnecessary scenes that sexualize her compared to the rest. the foot fetish scene, her having sex during b&c and now her own son kissing her out of blue. all unnecessary to the actual plot.
hotd is oddly enough very anti-romance and anti-sex. they use sex for shock value, and to keep up with got’s precedent, but none of the couples have any true intimate or kiss scenes of substance.
the couple w the most is alicent and criston and that was badly executed

show jace disrespecting his mother’s orders and refusing to take her seriously as a ruler in multiple instances is horrible writing for his character, I understand his sentiment but giving him this trait really takes away from what his character really stood for.
