“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.” EB White

The original Blade Runner soundtrack is beautiful and transcendent.

Lynch moment: All thoughts are already existing as fields, just like sound or magnetic energy which come from outside of “you.” Your body catches them like a tuner, then claims them. Catching a really big thought is tuning. Perfecting that reception is the work.

Slow down and remember this: Most things make no difference. Being busy is a form of laziness—lazy thinking and indiscriminate action. Being overwhelmed is often as unproductive as doing nothing, and is far more unpleasant. Being selective—doing less—is the path of the productive. Focus on the important few and ignore the rest.

I can’t get enough of @malcolmguite reading from his study. Nothing more comforting than a pipe and a good book (this is from Tolkien). Go follow him on YouTube.

The future you’re waiting for. The better, happier moment. The moment to finally relax. The time when it will all come together. This is it.

If you work hard and show it, people will tell you that you are letting others take advantage of you. If you work hard and say it’s nothing, people will tell you that you are taking advantage of others.

There’s something fundamentally beautiful about doing the absolute best you can, with only exactly what you have.

I don’t know who needs to hear it but everything apparent is false, everything is a scam, no thoughts are the truth, and the biggest lie going is your separate special self, who is still “working on it” whatever “it” may be. It’s not a negative message, it’s not a positive one.

It takes time to develop your gut, but once it’s developed, don’t doubt it.

A life doesn’t really go well or not well, it just goes on. Don’t add good and bad to your days, and you’re well on your way to understanding.

To “find” creativity (or anything) within yourself, you have to realize it’s already there. Not lost. Not missing. No blocks. Nothing to do to get it back or unlock it. The problem is you aren’t spending time and effort to *do.* You aren’t applying what you already have.

The funny thing about finally getting what you’re seeking is that it’s not very special any more. It’s only special to not have it.

How to live Zen in 2024: - don’t predict good or bad days - don’t grab on to mental chatter - don’t serve your idea of “better” - trust in only here, now - this experience, now, is it

The hardest thing is figuring out what you really want. It’s never outside your own mind, but it always seems like it is.
