Chapter 3 of my thesis is now published in @SocietyExpMech! Quantifying how the mechanical properties of tissues change over time & with disease progression is instrumental for understanding health. We observed variations in stiffness & fracture in gelatin & liver using VCCE.

Seeing another piece of my PhD in print is a nice reminder of how much work I put in over the last few years. As always, I couldn't have done it alone and this paper was a group effort with so many wonderful lab mates in the @CohenMechGroup

The reminder I needed today

No proposal or manuscript is ever perfect, but to be effective, it does eventually need to be finished.
Nothing we submit will ever be as good as it *could* be and just recognizing that can be an important step forward.
Perfection is not the goal. Finished is the goal.

-Why is the conference background lighting color of choice purple?
-When presenting images of stained cells, can we all agree to invert our colors? Red on black is not a functional color scheme on a projector. Wearing my @MITCommLab fellow hat here and I am dying.

Our most recent paper on the elasticity of whole blood clots is out today in @mechbiomat. Stored blood produced softer clots while stiffness was consistent across a range of moderate strain rates. Read more here authors.elsevier.com/c/1h5b5ā¦
Clots are vital for human health but also a leading cause of morbidity world wide. Problem is, itās very challenging to measure how soft or hard clots are and treat accordingly. In this paper we investigate the stiffness of whole blood clots using VCCE authors.elsevier.com/c/1h5b5ā¦
