The best way to learn x.com/karpathy/status/132515…

How to become expert at thing: 1 iteratively take on concrete projects and accomplish them depth wise, learning “on demand” (ie don’t learn bottom up breadth wise) 2 teach/summarize everything you learn in your own words 3 only compare yourself to younger you, never to others

When I go back to my hotel room and lights are off
I don't have expensive tastes or any particular desire for luxury. But I've done a lot of travel this year, and I've concluded there are three things I want a hotel room to have: - Blackout curtains - Power outlets next to the bed - One button to turn off all the lights.

One of the most important tweets you will read if you understand the effects of Fable’s tantrum
The first export control on a live AI model came 3 days after this post. New tutorial on how to make your agents robust to model removals and deprecations: openrouter.ai/blog/tutorials…

One can only imagine the drop in OpenAI and Anthropic stock prices if they were public. Remember the day Deepseek was released? This is like 100 times bigger.
i am hearing very, very good things about glm5.2 from people who's opinions i trust we're in for a weird next few weeks in the absence of fable, this might be the smallest open weights capability gap there has been since the r1 era

Pretty high bar if you ask me: 3 events like $NVDA closing 50% from ATH or Anthropic and OpenAI going bankrupt.

After years working in non-commercial roles, then moving into it, I realized that persuasion, or its business name, sales, is the most important skill in life.
This developing story about Dario's failed communications with the White House confirms everything I've ever believed about the enormous power of the Sales Chad. You can be the smartest, most hard working, well-meaning guy around, but if you can't get people to like you, it's all for nothing. When the time comes to send one of your own to meet inside the Halls of Power, you don't send the Geek Squad. You must send the affable, beer-drinking, golf-loving Sales Chad. It literally doesn't matter if he understands the product half as well as everyone else. You send him. It's what he was put on Earth to do.

Opus is not happy that Fable is back in the cage. Very sloppy today.

The last 20 years in the tech scene have been a closed circle of companies and VCs based off the success of mostly sw companies and some real world applications. It has created a dangerous precedent where VCs and tech pros think AI is business as usual. Most businesses don’t need SOTA models, unlike sw companies. More and more I believe implementation is key, and new ventures will grow out of applying the tools and pure AI labs will follow the fate of ISPs

“It’s not just me! He has it too!” Guys, seriously, go have a beer together and talk like men
NEW: Anthropic claims the capability cited by the U.S. in restricting Fable 5 is already widely available from other models, including OpenAI’s GPT-5.5.

“Not your keys not your crypto” has a nice ring to it, and we are going to come up with something similar for LLMs soon

If I’m the CEO of a pharma company and OpenAI and Anthropic are pitching their products, 10% of the convo is pricing and capabilities and 90% is privacy and safety. Mistral may have an opening like never before

If I was the CEO of BMS who just signed a deal with Anthropic, I’d be very interested in having a conversation with the sales team on Monday.
I can’t believe Anthropic comparing their product to nuclear weapons 800 times backfired on them. I am shocked

How I see things: Anthropic: top models. Let others figure out the use OpenAI: great models. Designs uses, implements. Gemini: ok models. Distribution model
Really curious for Gemini 3.5 Pro. The competition is currently fierce. It needs to be a big release.

It actually opens the door to the next phase of frontier lab development: 2 tiers, you pay subscription for awesome (but inferior) AI, and premium for cutting edge. Otherwise it’s a commodity, prices will plummet and we are left with Gemm

Do you know what happens when something becomes abundant and liquid and has economic value? It can be spot traded or through derivatives. Tokens will be traded.
One week later: token prices are tumbling after industrywide blockback against surging token costs.

“Yes, we have hurricanes in Florida, but at least we don’t have earthq… what is that noise?”
Update: Shaking has been felt across much of Florida in the aftermath of the 6.1 magnitude quake just west of Cuba. *NO* tsunami threat is expected from the earthquake.

I’m really curious to see the effects of Reta in non-obese adults. Same outcomes in cardiometabolic and cancer incidence?

My iPhone is slowly grinding to a halt. I think there is a lot of optimization to be done by OS developers, and refactoring via AI models is going to show what can be achieved with less
