How to become expert at thing:
1 iteratively take on concrete projects and accomplish them depth wise, learning “on demand” (ie don’t learn bottom up breadth wise)
2 teach/summarize everything you learn in your own words
3 only compare yourself to younger you, never to others

The last 20 years in the tech scene have been a closed circle of companies and VCs based off the success of mostly sw companies and some real world applications.
It has created a dangerous precedent where VCs and tech pros think AI is business as usual.
Most businesses don’t need SOTA models, unlike sw companies.
More and more I believe implementation is key, and new ventures will grow out of applying the tools and pure AI labs will follow the fate of ISPs
